FocusTab is a Chrome Extension that helps users stay focused by locking them to one website for a set duration. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we handle and how.

Data We Collect

FocusTab does not collect any personally identifiable information. The only data stored is:

Focus session duration and domain (stored locally on your device)
Number of distractions per session (stored locally on your device)
Weekly session history (stored locally on your device)

All of this data is stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API and never leaves your device.

Data We Do Not Collect

No personal information (name, email, address)
No browsing history
No financial or payment information
No location data
No authentication credentials
No data is sent to any external server

Permissions We Use

tabs — To monitor tab switches and detect when you leave your focus domain
storage — To save session data locally on your device
notifications — To notify you when your focus session completes
scripting — To inject the floating timer and distraction warning overlay

Third Parties

FocusTab does not share any data with third parties. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's Privacy

FocusTab does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
